FounderMatt Silvera is the founder and lead trainer at Berserk Sports Performance, where he focuses on athlete training and programming alongside co-founder Charlie Perkins. With a background in baseball and Muay Thai, his passion for athletic performance drove him to train with top industry professionals and open Berserk SP in 2023. His personal journey transformed him from a shy, insecure athlete to one who excelled in college baseball, reaching impressive physical milestones through rigorous training. Currently pursuing a master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology, Matt aims to integrate mental health support into his training programs. At Berserk, he emphasizes not just physical development, but also emotional and psychological growth, helping athletes become well-rounded individuals.

Co FounderCharlie is a recent graduate of William Jessup University, where he completed his MBA. At Berserk SP, he primarily manages Gen-Pop, various transactions, onboarding, and facility maintenance, while also assisting athletes as needed. Over the course of his collegiate career, Charlie played under four different coaches across the Junior College, Division 1, and NAIA levels. This experience has provided him with in-depth knowledge of transfer and eligibility rules and the recruitment process, which he uses to help clients with insights from his own training journey and continued education.
With a current personal record of 92 mph, Charlie is continuing his own training as he aims for professional baseball opportunities. As he continues to learn and develop, Charlie is eager to share his knowledge and experience with athletes to help them improve by any means possible.

InternJose Cruz is one of the sports performance interns at Berserk sp. His roles include the overseeing of athletes and data collection of the athletic metrics of the athletes. Jose cruz finished his college baseball career in may of 2024 and is currently training and pursuing professional opportunities. Jose is a passionate and relentless learning obsessed with all things baseball and throwing. Jose is known for his strong work ethic and competence. His passion for sports performance, particularly baseball, drives him to continually learn and improve, making him a valuable asset to his team. Jose’s commitment and enthusiasm for helping athletes reach their peak performance are evident in everything he does.

Design DirectorRicky Saad is a young, talented social media director at Berserk SP. He has an exceptional ability to capture the dynamic energy and raw emotion of the athletes at Berserk SP. His creative vision and cinematography skills bring out the intensity and dedication of our athletes he films, turning workouts and training sessions into compelling visual narratives. Through his videos, he not only highlights peak performance, but also creates an engaging and inspiring connection between athletes and their audience. His work elevates the gym’s social media presence and resonates with a broad audience. He is the vision behind all things creative at Berserk SP and has a major passion for all things sports and sports performance.

Fighting CoachStarted his Jiu-Jitsu and MuayThai Training in 2005.
In 2007 he started to compete in amateur kickboxing, conquering good results as state and national champion. In 2011 he started in MMA amateur fights and became a professional fighter in 2013, doing his last Pro fight in 2018. Coach Rafa has the pleasure of sharing the mats/rings with very well-known fighters and trainers which gave him a great base as an athlete and later a good start as a trainer/professor. He has trained: Kickboxing, MuayThai, Boxing, Karate, Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA. Always looking to become a better human being and a complete fighter. With over 10+ years as a profession and 20 years as an athlete, Coach Rafa Monster will give you his best to help you achieve your goals as a practitioner or fighter. Staying active competing in Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and helping his students is his goal daily.

Fighting CoachRiley has been practicing martial arts for over 21 years. Starting with Krav Maga in 2003 at the age of 5 he fell in love with martial arts and has been an avid practitioner ever since. He’s gone on to learn other fighting styles such as kickboxing and MMA which he incorporates into his Krav Maga instruction. Riley started coaching in 2016 and teaches everyone from kids to adults. He firmly believes that everyone should know how to defend themselves and that learning said skills should be an enjoyable experience.
