PITCHING

As a baseball player, it is easy to get lost in the latest fads and drills seen all over social media. At Berserk SP in collaboration with renowned throwing coaches, we offer individualized solutions to your goals. Following an initial assessment, we capture high-frame rate videos of your mechanics to break down mechanical inefficiencies and come up with a plan for you to optimize your mechanics and increase your velocity. This will include a full breakdown along with a list of specific throwing drills for your specific needs. Don’t get caught doing the wrong drills and wasting your time.

ARM CARE

Here at Berserk we have worked and learned from the best to create a robust arm care program. The best ability is availability which means staying healthy. We utilize many different rehabilitation and prevention techniques in our arm care to ensure the greatest possibility of staying healthy and being able to produce high levels of output time and time again.

Strength

Training is preparation. We do not begin building a house until there is a solid foundation. For muscles to effectively transfer energy to movements, we must strengthen the corresponding elastic components and collagen structures, as these provide stability and make a more resilient, robust athlete. So why do we strength train, throw medballs, sprint and use plyometrics? Put simply, we use these means to develop the qualities that allow an athlete to better express their sports skills. Training builds general qualities, which allow us to gain access to improving or changing technical abilities.

MOBILITY

Mobility is more than just flexibility, it is the freedom to move your body. Mobility requires strength, coordination, rhythm, and elasticity. But why does it matter? Simply put if you can’t hit a position in a static position there is a zero percent chance of you being able to hit that position dynamically in your sport. Your technique is limited by your movement capacity, so no matter how many drills you do if you never address your mobility you will never be able to make a technical change.

SPEED

Speed training teaches your body how to apply force faster which is crucial for sports performance and allows weight room gains to transfer to your sport. When sprinting your body produces and receives forces anywhere from 8-10x your body weight. To be able to tolerate those forces you must have a strong body. Strength isn’t defined by the barbell or dumbbell. Speed is strength. Speed, Maximal Strength, and Rate of Force Development are all expressions of force. These qualities are not confined to a single exercise or movement. A sprinter will have ground contact times (GCTs) of .08, while a baseball pitch has a time for force application of .145. seconds, and a punch of .6 seconds. Training speed is essential in improving athletic performance
