What we Offer
For our fitness clientele, we offer 1-1 private training as well as small group personal training. We take a comprehensive assessment and create an individualized program tailored to your goals. Our approach to fitness is different from most commercial gyms as we take a true hybrid training approach with our fitness clientele. Most gyms have their clients engage in body-building style workouts in the name of fitness, but that is not true fitness. We aim to improve all aspects of life. Fitness is way more than looking good in the mirror, it’s about feeling great and capable as a human. With our hybrid approach, we improve all aspects of fitness such as; Muscle mass & tone, cardiovascular ability & conditioning, and coordination and mobility. This means you will look great in the mirror, be able to do active activities without being winded and worrying about injury, and most importantly feel physically strong and confident.
Embarking on your fitness journey is one of the best things you can do for yourself. You will see as you physically transform and upgrade your body you will too upgrade and transform internally as well. Besides improving your health the best thing becoming fit does is improve our self-perception. We have seen both personally and in the clients we train that self-esteem, confidence, and overall life satisfaction increase exponentially through training. In the process of becoming fit, you will see yourself do things that you thought were not possible. You will realize you are more capable than you gave yourself credit for and are capable and deserving of having the life you want.
improving your fitness
Exercise improves mood and reduces stress by boosting endorphins and other neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine. Regular physical activity also enhances cognitive function, emotional resilience, and self-esteem, while alleviating symptoms of depression and anxiety.
-
Exercise lowers the levels of stress hormones, such as cortisol, and stimulates the production of endorphins, which are natural mood elevators. This helps reduce stress and promote relaxation.
-
Physical activity triggers the release of neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins, which contribute to feelings of happiness and well-being.
-
Regular exercise has been shown to increase the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine, which help regulate mood. These chemicals play a role in reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
-
Exercise increases blood flow to the brain, promoting neurogenesis (the creation of new neurons) in areas like the hippocampus, which is responsible for memory and learning. This leads to improved cognitive abilities and better focus.
-
As individuals engage in regular physical activity, they often experience improvements in their physical fitness, body image, and overall sense of accomplishment, which can boost self-esteem and confidence.
-
Physical activity helps regulate the body's circadian rhythms, leading to better sleep patterns. Exercise also promotes deeper sleep by reducing stress and anxiety levels, which are common causes of insomnia.
-
Regular exercise improves cardiovascular efficiency and increases mitochondrial function, providing the body with more energy and reducing feelings of fatigue.
-
By improving overall mood and reducing stress, exercise helps individuals become more emotionally resilient and better equipped to handle challenges and setbacks. These effects demonstrate that physical exercise plays a vital role not only in physical health but also in fostering mental well-being through a combination of neurochemical, cognitive, and psychological mechanisms.
Matt’s Journey
In my fitness journey, I started as an overweight, shy, anxious kid. I did not think very highly of myself as a person often felt lesser than others, and could not even look at myself in the mirror. I also had a hard time speaking up for myself and felt generally unwanted as a person. Conceptually I knew all of these thoughts and feelings were irrational, however, I still could not figure out how to be confident and believe in myself. I was too scared to show the person I was to the world. Finding fitness changed all of that. Fitness gave me an avenue to express my own self-belief. As I became stronger and in better shape I also saw how I gave myself permission to be confident and express my full authentic self. Years in fitness did make a huge physical transformation, but the mental transformation was even greater. I went from feeling shy, anxious, and unworthy as a person and transformed into someone who spoke up for themselves as well as others, confident, joyous, and excited to live. I strongly believe in the power of fitness and its metaphorical ability to brush off the grime that is covering up the diamond of a person that you are and know you can be.
